Problem
I have a problem regarding tally . Sir, my company is an infrastructural company and having work of construction of apartments, commercial buildings. Sir, I'm handling the accounts of the company and the problem is that there are 4 sites working in separate areas and the problem is that the bills are of steel, Rodi & there is distribution in these items also like jeera rodi, 1/2 rodi etc. The thing is how can i allocate the expenses of each site separately & also get to know that how much particular Rodi or steel had been used in that particular sites. I had opened cost centres also but the thing is he ask on bank charges also in which site the charges can transfer. It's too difficult to maintain the stock plz sir give suggestion how to maintain proper stock.

From your question , I seem that you are not understanding Tally's system of maintaining cost center properly . Same problems are facing many other accountants and if you try to understand the system of maintaining cost center in tally . The solution becomes more easy specially for your construction company's expenses allocation . Now , I explain it easy way :-
you said me that you have four site
site A
site B
site C
site D
and your stock items for construction of building are
1. small stones
2. simat
3. steel
4. sand
etc.
Now for recording these items in proper site , you have to activate cost center in feature F11
, after this you have to make above sites create in cost center under primary cost category . After this , you have to create unit measurement and stock items above four like simat , small Stone etc . After this you have to create ledger accounts relating to your transactions like bank , sale and purchase accounts etc.
Now , you are ready for passing entries . When you will pass the voucher entry , suppose , if you buy , and when you pass the voucher entry in purchase in purchase voucher then tally opens new pop up window for inventory allocation . In this window , you will fill the form by writing the items and its value which you are purchasing and after this when you enter again a new pop up window will open and you have to write cost category as prime and and write those cost center for this you have bought stock and enter it after this fulfil the for of voucher entry of purchase . It will surely charge expenses on respected cost center means your respected site and , you will enable to get report and also print it by print command .
