What is bill of material ?

Bill of material is famous with short form BOM in manufacturing industry . If we write all raw material on a single list , this list becomes bill of material so , in accounting all raw material is recorded in single database by using access database or ms excel . It is different from bill of order and bill of quantities . Bill of material is used just for reporting and telling how will a product will be created but bill of order is formal document of purchase order and bill of quantity is used for telling the detail of material with its given terms and conditions . BOM is also telling the total sitemap of any product which is made by including different products at different process or it is defined as product structure tree which is used for getting all information of raw materials . BOM is also famous word in engineering line because it explains the detail of design of any finished product contain raw material in it .
