Google Finance offers a broad range of information about stocks, mutual funds, public and private companies. Google has commenced Google Finance website on March 21, 2006 for presenting stock and share rates of business and financial information.
In the top, you can observe market summary. Top right side, you can see sponsored ads relating to finance. After this, you can notice right side “create a portfolio box”. With this, you can create your company or your own asset portfolio. You can also discover many new things in this site.
In these new things, we can comprise sector summary. This summary shows which sector of business is moving upward and which sector is moving downward. If you click any sector, you can perceive full detail of that sector. Suppose, I have chosen financial sector and click on it for knowing its full detail, first of all, I can see its performance chart.
You can also know financial sector’s 5 days performance, one month performance and 3 month performance or more.
Except these features, you can get trends of popular searches in Google, share prices and market capital changes and judge against one company with other company. In new design of google finance, three new tools are added; one is world markets data, second is currency market data and third is bond market data.
You also change these tools place within google finance. All these financial exchanges information are collected by different data providers and showed it in google finance.

Google Finance Blog
Google Finance blog shows update information relating to Google finance site. But last 6 months, a single post has not published in this blog.
Last post “Improved Company Comparisons” was published on October 15, 2009 in which Tianpeng Jin, Software Engineer told about navigating the chart, zoom in and out, and click on news stories and a table of key metrics such as price or market cap right below the chart.
He also elucidated about customizing the metrics by adding or removing columns from the table. Last but not least, he also told about new way of comparison. In his own words,
"Google Finance now supports cross-country stock comparison. Compare any public stocks from across the world. For example, you can compare Apple with HTC Corporation.
