Steps to transfer domain from one registrar to another
1st Step : To Register for Transfer Domain
Go to the site where you have to register in future after transferring domain from old registrar. Every hosting company's website will show transfer button. Click this and write your domain and your personal information and pay online fees. Following screencast is of znetindia.com
2nd Step : To Get Authorisation Code
This is a code which you can get from your old registrar. For this, you have to send a simple email to your old registrar. I also wrote a request to my old registrar enom at his email.
" Dear Sir/ Madam/ Team,
I want to transfer my domain from you to another registrar due to (mention of your reason). So, please give me my authorisation code.
Thanks and regard
mention your name"
3rd Step : Give Your Authorisation Code to New Registrar's Employee
You have to send authorisation code to new registrar's employee by email. I did same.
4th Step : Confirm the Acceptance of Transfer by Clicking the Link of New Registrar
New Registrar will send you a web page link on your email, you have to click it for accepting the transfer. Only after this, new registrar can start the procedure of transfer of your domain.
5th Step : Please Wait for Transferring
In this step, you have to wait 7 to 10 days for transferring the domain. So, it is my request to order of transfer minimum 30days before expiry of domain.
6th Step : Check Your Domain's registration
After successful transfer, you will get email from new registrar who will write that your domain has been transferred successfully. Check it at Whois.net
7th Step : To Configure Your DNS setting
DNS setting means domain name setting. Because, you have to keep all records online. So, it is very necessary to create relation between your hosting and your domain. If your hosting and domain name is same company, then there is no problem, but if both are different company, you have to configure your DNS setting.
In my case, my hosting company is google blogger because before getting domain, I was writing on free blogger. So, I have made new CNAME record by going to my account in my new registrar znetindia.com by writing host name www and value as ghs.google.com
