How to Get GST Number if You don't Have VAT Number

There are two options. One you have the VAT number and second you don't VAT number.


If you have VAT Number / Service Tax ID / Central Excise ID

If you have VAT number or TIN number or Central excise ID or Service Tax ID and your annual good or service sale is more than Rs. 10 Lakh ( Northen India) and rest of India more than Rs. 20 Lakh, it is your duty to register for GST number.

1st Step 

For this, just go to GST Portal https://www.gst.gov.in/

2nd Step

Click New User Login

3rd  Step 

Agree the provisions proposed model of GST Act and click the button of continue

(A) Constitution of Business

a) Keep partnership deed in pdf
b) Registration certificate

(B) Principle Place of Business

c) Memorandum of association and article of association
d)  bye laws of society
e) tax paid receipt
f) municipal khata copy
g) electical bill
h) Rent/ lease agreement
i) concent letter
j) any other certificate or record from govt. department
k) Bank statement

(C) Detail of authorized signatory

l) Letter of authorisation
m) copy or resolution passed by bod/ managing committee
n) First page of passbook
o) Bank statement
p) Photo
q) any other documents

4th Step 

Add your VAT ID and password
or
Add central excise ID and password

or Add Service Tax ID or Password


 If You don't Have VAT Number / Service Tax ID / Central Excise ID


Still GST department enrolling the existing dealers who have VAT number. As soon as it will start to enroll new dealer, I will send message on this website.
